Recently metamorphosed Frosted Flatwoods Salamander, #Ambystoma cingulatum from St Marks Wildlife Refuge. Through our federal collaboration, we were able to acquire 15 young animals produced from this year's breeding season for our captive breeding colony. Frosted and Reticulated Flatwoods Salamanders are both at imminent risk of extinction with 90% losses in population since 1999. The animals are housed in our recently constructed #salamanderLAB at the Garden until they are old enough to attempt breeding them. #CaptiveBreeding #AmphibianConservation #SalamanderConservation #Salamander #Salamanders
