#GlassFrogWeek featuring these incredible frogs and the work of Katie Karl

Tomorrow, we are launching the first #GlassFrogWeek to highlight a beautiful and fascinating group of frogs known as the centrolenids. This has been a favorite group of ours for many years and we have had the privilege of working with a few species of Glass Frog over the years as well. Glass Frog illustration by Katie Karl. A portion of the proceeds will support the Amphibian Foundation. #GlassFrogWeek will also feature the incredible work of Katie Karl , a gifted artist and dedicated conservationist at Blue Iguana Art, who recently created this splendid graphic of the Granulated Glass Frog, Cochranella granulosa , and offered to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the shirt to the Amphibian Foundation. Art Installation Benefits the Amphibian Foundation!

We were contacted by Valeria Vazquez Garcia, she and Sabrina Stolls of Nevada created an interesting and amphibious art installation which also raised some support for the Amphibian Foundation. We are grateful for that support so I wanted to share their words and art with you all here! Here is the installation room my friend, Sabrina Solis, and I, Valeria Vazquez, created. Before our wishing pond we wrote Sylvia Plath's poem, "Frog Autumn" on the floor. We painted a kiddie pool black and put it on black stands, added sprayfoam, and painted that  green once it hardened. We decorated the inside with handmade ceramic toads, carved out tadpoles and sprinkled pebbles and rocks inside. The walls were painted green and decorated with plastic. We did this because we think toads and frogs are cute, and believe it's important to protect an indicator species.
