The federally listed Frosted #Flatwoods #Salamander, #Ambystoma cingulatum has suffered a 90% population decline since 2000. We are working with several state and national partners to conserve this species before it disappears forever. To that end, we are building a #CaptiveBreeding colony at the Garden and once the #salamanders reach maturity, we hope to breed them and release the offspring into protected, properly managed habitat. #SalamandersOfInstagram #SalamanderConservation #AmphibianConservation #FlatwoodsSalamander #Ambystomacingulatum #Ambystomatidae
