Part of the new #salamanderLAB at @atlbotanical

We will use this facility to rear young Frosted Flatwoods Salamanders from larvae to breeding age. They are housed separately because these endangered #salamanders like to snack on each other - at least as larvae. Both species of #FlatwoodsSalamander have suffered a 90% loss in population since 2000 and are in imminent risk of extinction. #Ambystoma #Ambystomacingulatum #Ambystomatidae #AmphibianConservation #AmphibianConservationProgram #FrogsNeedOurHelp #SalamandersNeedourHelp #AtlantaBotanicalGardenConservation #EndangeredSpecies #AtlantaBG #FrogsOfInstagram #SalamandersOfInstagram #frogs #frog #salamanders #salamander #ribbit #CaptiveBreeding #CaptiveBred #ExSitu #InSitu #CaptiveAssuranceColony
