Leslie Phillips, Lead Amphibian Keeper checks on the last known Rabbs' Fringe-limbed Tree Frog, #Ecnomiohyla rabborum today in the #frogPOD

This frog was filmed today (through the glass) for an upcoming segment on @11Alive This frog, and many other Panamanian species were rescued from the lethal Amphibian #Chytrid Fungus which was decimating amphibian populations in central Panama in 2005. Some frogs, such as E. rabborum were most likely wiped out by the fungus in the wild, and captive connections have been reduced to this one lone male - making it the rarest frog on earth. #Ecnomiohylarabborum #Endling #CriticallyEndangered
