First Amphibian Foundation Calendar Now Available for 2018
This time last year, the Amphibian Foundation was breaking into the field of amphibian conservation as a new non-profit organization. Throughout 2017, we grew tremendously and, with your help, achieved several key accomplishments. This fall, we’re excited to announce our first fundraiser to help us continue growing and accomplishing our goals.
Beginning Friday, October 13th, donate $20 or more to pre-order a unique 8.5” x 11” calendar created by the Amphibian Foundation. Calendars feature an up close and personal portrait of an extraordinary frog, salamander, or newt, and your support will directly help protect endangered amphibians and their habitats. Pre-order your calendar on our website and find answers to frequently asked questions. Pre-order before October 31st to receive the calendar for a special donation rate of $18.
Amphibians are important for the health of humans and ecosystems.
The foundation works everyday to protect amphibians (and reptiles). Not only are these creatures incredibly unique, but they’re also vital to the health of humans and ecosystems. For example, amphibians:
- Limit the spread of disease by eating insects like mosquitos, which can spread germs to humans.
- Indicate environmental problems as an indicator species, notifying scientists to changing ecosystems.
- Improve human health by treating pain and infections with compounds from their skin.
- Balance ecosystems as part of the food chain.
You can help conserve amphibians, too!
Donating money to the Amphibian Foundation is only one way to help conserve amphibians - there are many more! You can:
- Monitor amphibian communities in Atlanta as a citizen scientist. If you don’t live in Atlanta, then consider creating an amphibian friendly yard in your area.
- Check out our partners to learn about their work to protect amphibians and their habitats across the world.
- Spread the word - share why you think amphibians are amazing with the hashtag #AmphibiousAF, tag the Amphibian Foundation, and tell people about the first-ever Amphibian Foundation calendar.
As always, we appreciate your support - thank you!
