Breaking News during #AmbystomaWeek ! Marbled Salamanders breeding right in Atlanta. Yesterday, during my Biology of Amphibians course field trip, we detected 34 salamanders, many of which were females guarding eggs. This is only the second confirmed site, and the first with evidence of reproduction. We will closely monitor the developments within this population through our MAAMP surveys.
